SPILL THE HONEY FOUNDATION

Bridging Story and Strategy to Advance a Historic Mission

Spill The Honey is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to combating racism and antisemitism by honoring the historic alliance between Black and Jewish communities. Under the leadership of Dr. Clarence B. Jones — Civil Rights icon, former advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Chairman of the foundation — and Former U.S. Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, now Executive Director, the organization stands at the intersection of legacy and activism.

In preparation for its annual event — A Celebration of Unity and Legacy — Spill The Honey required more than materials; it needed a unified communications ecosystem that could elevate its message, attract sponsors, and engage audiences across multiple platforms.

Eric Wheelwright played a lead role in driving that transformation, overseeing creative development, campaign strategy, and media execution across every phase of the initiative.

Telling Their Story

Promotional Video

A Cinematic Call to Action Anchored in Legacy and Purpose

To open A Celebration of Unity and Legacy, Eric Wheelwright produced a powerful promotional video that encapsulated Spill The Honey’s mission, leadership, and cultural relevance. The piece featured moving appearances from Dr. Clarence B. Jones, Civil Rights icon and Chairman of the Foundation, and Brenda Lawrence, Executive Director and former U.S. Congresswoman.

Blending archival visuals, contemporary interviews, and purposeful motion design, the video served as both a tribute and a rallying cry — designed to resonate with attendees and catalyze support in real time.

The piece concluded with a prominently placed QR code linked to the donation portal, enabling viewers to act immediately on the emotional impact of the message. Presented during the event’s opening moments, the video set the tone for the evening and underscored the organization’s commitment to education, remembrance, and unity.

Event Sponsorship Packet

Inspiring Support Through Legacy, Impact, and Purpose

For A Celebration of Unity and Legacy, Eric Wheelwright led the development of a high-impact sponsorship packet designed to elevate Spill The Honey’s value proposition and attract meaningful investment. Guided by a deep understanding of the organization’s cultural mission and event objectives, the packet fused elegant design with persuasive storytelling to drive sponsor engagement.

Featuring historical context, community relevance, and clear tiers of sponsorship, the packet spotlighted the leadership of Dr. Clarence B. Jones, grounding the event in both legacy and current-day relevance. Visual cohesion, data-informed layouts, and emotional resonance were key in appealing to philanthropic partners and corporate donors.

The result was a refined and effective tool that played a central role in generating over $150,000 in sponsorship revenue, helping to amplify the foundation’s reach and visibility at a national level.

Informational Brochure

To deepen public understanding of Spill The Honey’s mission and legacy, Eric Wheelwright guided the creative execution of this honey-accented informational brochure. Designed for both storytelling and activation, the piece educates readers on the historical alliance between Black and Jewish communities and presents the foundation’s ongoing work to promote empathy, justice, and change.

With clearly defined sections on mission impact, program highlights, and donor pathways, the brochure combines accessible language with dynamic visuals. Strategic QR code integration allows recipients to view the Shared Legacies documentary trailer and make direct contributions via mobile — turning interest into immediate action.

This piece played a pivotal role in driving engagement at both public and private events, extending the reach of Spill The Honey’s narrative and fostering lasting connections with its audience.

Donation Cards

Compact. Intentional. Action-Oriented.

To support Spill The Honey’s fundraising efforts during key public and private engagements, Eric Wheelwright oversaw the creation of this sleek, event-ready donation card. With a minimalist aesthetic that aligns with the organization’s visual identity, the card delivers both form and function.

The front features the official brand mark and a prominent QR code linked directly to Spill The Honey’s mobile donation platform—streamlining the giving process for attendees and passersby. The reverse provides essential contribution details, making it clear, accessible, and IRS-compliant.

These cards were strategically distributed at live events and high-profile gatherings, serving as a low-friction touchpoint that turned inspiration into immediate support. Designed for impact, they helped extend the organization’s reach—one scan at a time.

Official Letterhead

A Refined Identity for a Meaningful Mission

As part of a comprehensive branding effort for Spill The Honey, Eric Wheelwright led the development of the organization’s official letterhead. The goal: to create a clean, modern document template that reflects the foundation’s purpose, values, and professionalism.

The layout features a striking use of color and geometry, subtly integrating the brand’s honeycomb motif while maintaining clarity and readability. The organization’s logo is placed with precision, and branding elements extend through the header and footer without overpowering the content space.

This letterhead is used for donor correspondence, media outreach, and internal communication—solidifying the brand’s presence in every message sent. It’s more than just stationery; it’s an extension of Spill The Honey’s commitment to excellence and unity.

Donation Envelope

Simplifying Support with Purposeful Design

To support fundraising efforts at Spill The Honey’s annual event, Eric Wheelwright developed this custom donation envelope—designed to make the act of giving both accessible and intentional. With a layout that blends warmth and clarity, the envelope reflects the organization’s branding while providing a streamlined donation experience.

On the front, simple prompts guide donors through giving options, whether by check, online, or via QR code. The QR code, which Eric also managed and configured, links directly to a secure donation portal—bridging physical materials with digital convenience.

Every element of the envelope reinforces Spill The Honey’s mission while removing friction from the donation process. It’s a small touch with a big impact—elevating donor confidence and maximizing event contributions.
